10,000 Steps a Day
We all know that we should be more active. You have probably heard that you should try to walk 10,000 steps a day. How do you do that? We want to give you 9 simple and fun ways to get in extra steps today.
Park in the farthest parking spot at work. This can get you an extra 200 steps.
Better yet, park next door. Simply parking next door can get you an extra 500 or more steps.
Walk while you are talking on the phone. A 30 minute phone conversation is about 1800 steps.
Wash your car. This will gain you about 1000 steps.
Do an extra lap at the grocery store. 600 steps.
Go play mini-golf. 91 steps per minute!
Walk your dog. 1000 steps every 15 minutes (unless they stop a lot to sniff every tree)
Speaking of using the bathroom, use a bathroom on a different floor or further away from the one you normally use – 200 steps.
Have a dance party. Dancing to one song is about 400 steps.
If you did all of these in one day you would rack up about 9500 steps. We think you can get the other 500 just in your normal day to day
